(Austin, TX) Responding to the Congressional Quarterly report that Republican Michael McCaul cast 94% of his votes in Congress along the party line, challenger Larry Joe Doherty took Michael to task.

"It's clear Mike McCaul has gotten too cozy with the D.C. lobbyists and Republican special interests. Whenever the Bush administration needs someone to carry their water in Congress, McCaul is there 94% of the time," said Doherty.

"To get this country back on track," Doherty continued, "we've got to drop the rubber-stamps and elect some independent thinkers. That's why I'm running against this lapdog - to bring some accountability to Washington."
