Larry Joe Doherty raises over $150,000
Democratic Candidate for Congress Larry Joe Doherty raises over $150,000 in 4th Quarter
Legal malpractice attorney and star of courtroom television series poses most serious financial challenge to Republican incumbent Mike McCaul
(Austin) — Larry Joe Doherty, candidate for Congress in the 10th Congressional District, today filed his 4th quarter report that showed he raised $151,115 from 308 individuals bringing the total raised to $379,990 from 433 individuals.
“Our fundraising is a clear indication that Texans want change,” noted Doherty. “George Bush and Mike McCaul have failed this country. Texans want Congress to stand up for them, not for Haliburton, or Exxon.”
Doherty is no stranger to holding the powerful interests accountable. As a legal malpractice attorney, he built a national reputation for taking on lawyers who neglected their clients and
abused the system, though he may be better recognized as the star of the courtroom series Texas Justice.
The 10th Congressional District runs from Northeast Austin to Southwest Houston encompassing all or parts of 8 counties, and 2 of the most expensive media markets in Texas. “We have cash-on-hand of $267,475,” noted campaign manager Andy Kabza, “and our fundraising continues to pick up as people realize Larry Joe is the best positioned candidate to go toe-to-toe with Mike McCaul.”
A Houston native, Larry Joe and his wife, Joanne, reside in Austin and maintain a wildlife preserve in Washington County.
